It’s time to set sail.

I’ve walked through town, slowly gathering all my belongings.

Now packed and everything on my boat, I sit staring out into the unknown.

I cannot lie. My fears still exist and my heartrate is quick, but I climb into the boat.

I look back at everything I’ve ever known. The familiar places. The familiar faces.

I wonder why it has to look like this, yet I know it is the journey set before me.

I push off the dock and my nervous heart is quickly met by the gentle ebb and flow

of the waves beneath me. And a strong yet comforting wind

fills my lungs and my sails, setting my direction,

guiding me onward.

It’s time to set sail.
